spur-ani.gif (2390 bytes) Nestled among the stately pines, large oaks, and variety of fruit trees, J.R.'s Hobby Horse is a unique and relaxing as its location: the northeast corner of Conway, Arkansas. Conway is an important crossroad of Central Arkansas with major U.S. highways passing through the tranquil town.  The city of Conway is the home of a thriving business community, three colleges, and the largest livestock auction in the state. The busy town echoes bygone days while offering modern conveniences, gracious hospitality, and friendly service.

spur-ani.gif (2390 bytes)When you enter the front door of J.R.'s (you may have to shoo a cat or pet a puppy), you'll find yourself in a leisurely atmosphere where there is time to talk about roping, discuss the benefits of Stetson and Resistol hats, or wrangle about what shape of bit to put on your horse. J.R. is experienced in bitting, riding, and roping. Most importantly, expert in discussing the benefits  of cowboy clothing ranging from the  Bosal, Side Pull, and Snaffles to bits and hackamores.

spur-ani.gif (2390 bytes)J.R. also has clothing, boots, hats, and jeans for people, although horses, pets, kids, and roping seem to be of the utmost importance.

spur-ani.gif (2390 bytes) Arkansas has enjoyed J.R.'s taste in clothing for 45 years. After being raised in a General Store, J.R. purchased his first men's store on Main Street of Heber Springs in 1962. It specialized in men's dress clothing, suits, ties, and shoes. J.R.'s different store evolved into the more western merchandise, and now the dream of a store where he sells what he enjoys has come true. Names like Stetson, King, Schaefer, Resistol, Big Horn, Acme, Bailey, Rockmount, Hereford, American, Wrangler, Montana Silver, and many others now cover the walls and counters of his favorite store: J.R.'s Hobby Horse. The name brands are both retailed in Conway and mail ordered to all Arkansas and surrounding states.

spur-ani.gif (2390 bytes)Conway's network of roads lead to many rodeos and roping five or six days of each week year round. Most roads pass within a mile or so of J.R.'s Hobby Horse.  Store hours are Monday through Saturday 9 to 5:30, so stop by and see us on your way through.
